Summer is a season for breathtaking open-air driving. As soon as our changeable weather warms up, all the public roads are overwhelmed with classy soft-tops. What could be more stunning than a powerful retractable hardtop convertible with a stylish type of design for great fun to drive in? Just lower the top of this beastie and enjoy the journey. Well, with that in mind, what cabrios are ranking the top favs in 2017?

5. Nissan 370Z
Designed to be used as a speedy driver’s car, the 2017 Nissan 370Z features a posh badge and an eye-watering $41,820 roadster pricing that is actually a rather high base price in the segment.  The 370Z isn’t an obvious choice if it comes to fuel-economy: it delivers high performance impressing the drivers with the SynchroRev Match, quick shifts and ultimate responsive steering. Equipped with a 3.7L VVEL V6, this rear-wheel-drive dreamboat gets 18 City mpg vs. 26 Highway mpg producing 332 ponies and 270 pound-feet of torque. It’s up to you which one trim level to opt for – a roadster, a touring roadster or a touring sport.  Cool, but pricey.

4. Fiat 124 Spider
With an acceptable price and athletic handling, it’s hard not to delight what the 2017 Spider adds to the sparkling Fiat edition. It’s a marriage of innovation and quality, a gold choice for those who dreams about a top-notch Italian-styled two-seater with a reasonable ($24,995) base price, not to mention a luxurious comfort. The stylish 160-hp droptop comes with a familiar 1.4L Turbo four with either a manual and automatic six-speed gearbox. Fancy the Abarth, sexy and racy? It’s even a bit quicker with 164hp.

3. Mazda MX-5 Miata
Lost for words of this strikingly impressive 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF! In its name, RF stands for ‘retractable fastback’, and this winning four-season model features a retractable targa top and drives the rear wheels. It will take only 12 seconds to open the roof! The same six-speed manual or automatic transmission paired with a 2.0L inline-four-cylinder engine delivers 155 horsepower and highly estimated fuel economy. With exclusive Machine Gray paint color, sleek curves and responsive handling, this $26,613 light-weight RF is ergonomic and comfortable. Contras? Actually, you won’t like a noisy cabin.

2. Porsche 718 Boxster
This mind-boggling model arguably deserves hundred of kudos being rightfully one of the most outstanding convertibles your money can buy. Having faced some critical kicking for its chassis revision, the 718 Boxster is motivated by a 2.0L turbocharged flat-four coming standard with a six-speed manual (optionally you’ll get a seven-speed automatic) transmission making an alarming 300 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. Porsche is not about saving your money: market price will raise up to $56,564. Contras? An overpriced list of options, so don’t overpay.

1. Jaguar F-Type
If you are looking for a premium roadster, with a top-class luxurious interior, sharp handling and powerful enough, the SRV trim for 2017 Jaguar F-Type will absolutely meet most of your needs. If you are wealthy enough, surely: starting from $65,400 for the 360-hp V6-equipped roadster, it may raise to $129,795 for the hard-hitting 575-hp SRV trim sledgehammer benefited from all-wheel-drive. The model gets a revised suspension, an impressive aero package and phenomenal chassis tuning.
