Ford Pulling the Curtain Back and Presenting 2018 Ford Focus

The Blue Oval recently unveiled its long-awaited fourth generation of the Focus nameplate in China and Europe. The all-new, 2018 Ford Focus has been completely revised and, hence, redesigned from a fresh. According to Ford, it is the most tech-stuffed and connected (Wi-Fi hotspot, SYNC 3 and wireless charging included) model of the mid-size family car.

Underpinning the new C2 platform at the very heart, the new Focus will boast new powertrain options. In terms of mechanics, it features a revised suspension, the new chassis, completely redesigned as well, the modified electrically assisted steering. Engine options are a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost, two 1.5-liter inline-four turbo EcoBoosts, and a 2.0-liter EcoBlue four-cylinder diesel. Three body styles will be offered – a 5-door wagon, a 5-door hatch and a 4-door sedan, available also in several trim packages. Chinese drivers will opt for a sport-focused ST-Line version and a top-range Titanium trim option. In Europe, three packages will be offered – a slightly different sporty ST-Line, an entry-level Active and a high-end Vignale. The performance versions are also on the way.

As for the safety tech, the new Focus will come equipped with a host of safety and driver-assist features. There are an adaptive cruise control (stop-and-go included), speed sign recognition, active parking assist (a driver can automatically shift from drive to reverse), satellite navigation with live traffic, and lane-centering system.
