Ford Uncaged the 2018 “Aluminum-and-Steel” Expedition

Just ahead of the upcoming Chicago Auto Show, Ford revealed its latest aluminum monster. The new, fourth-gen 2018 Expedition, is already considered to be one of the hugest and biggest aluminum-bodies productions cars, ever. Built on a modified F-150 chassis, the new SUV looks extremely handsome. Well, then, it appears the Ford team did the best with the exterior design as the Expedition doesn’t share the appearance with the F-150 looking completely unique.

Under the hood, the SUV is powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 mated to a ten-speed automatic gearbox. This powertrain is claimed to be the most powerful Expedition one to deliver 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.  Adaptive suspension, all-wheel-drive system and an electronic limited-slip differential will be also available. The carmaker offers the extended-wheelbase version called the Expedition Max, in order to provide more cargo space. The 2018 Expedition shares the basic interior design with the F-150 pickup; however, details matters. Packing the list of additional safety equipment including autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assist and blind-spot monitoring systems, the new SUV is expected to beat rivals in this segment.
